Maryland Votes For Animals (MVFA) is gearing up for the 2015 legislative session, which starts in just a few short weeks. After the huge success for animals in the November election, we are working hard on animal protection bills for the upcoming session. Your participation in legislative action for animals is critically important! Together we will stand and make our voices heard - giving a voice to those who cannot speak for themselves.

MVFA November Election Results - BIG WIN for Animals!
MVFA worked overtime this year to make sure humane candidates were elected who will champion and vote for animal protection legislation. Thanks to you and your votes, we had big wins for the animals at the polls this November. Ninety-one percent (91%) of MVFA-endorsed Humane Candidates Won! A warm "Congratulations" to the Humane Candidates in the Maryland General Assembly on their victory!

MVFA is the only Political Action organization for animals in Maryland and is your best source of information on candidates and crucial animal welfare issues. Stay informed and make sure you and everyone you know is signed up for MVFA action alerts HERE.

Mark your calendar and join with MVFA and the ASPCA on January 28th, 2015 for an exciting day meeting legislators and supporting important animal bills in the Maryland General Assembly.

Meet other animal advocates and hear about the most pressing animal issues. Find out how you can make a difference through animal protection legislation, including the bill on chaining dogs outside in extreme weather. JOIN US and be an important voice for those who cannot speak for themselves. No experience needed!

Spay/Neuter Grant Program News
The life-saving Spay/Neuter Grant Program initiated by MVFA in 2010, has entered the next phase and funded the first round of grants! This marks a historic moment for animals, shelters, rescues, and people in Maryland.  

The program awarded $475,000 in grants to 14 organizations across the state. These grants provide funds for critically needed spay/neuter services to combat shelter overpopulation and reduce the euthanasia of cats and dogs in Maryland.

Thousands of lives depended on this legislation passing in 2013, and thousands of lives can now be saved. More information about the funded Spay/Neuter program grants can be found HERE!

MVFA new Board Members and Executive Director
MVFA is pleased to announce the selection of 2 new members to the Board of Directors, and to congratulate Board member Lisa Radov on her appointment as Executive Director.

Lisa Radovcurrently serves on the MVFA Board and is dedicated to the passage of laws that will make Maryland a leader in the humane treatment of all animals. She is the owner of Gebco Insurance Associates and Triumph Insurance Agency, and holds a B.A. in International Relations and an MBA in Marketing and Advertising.

Tasha Bitzjoins the MVFA Board in the position of Treasurer. Tasha is active in the rescue community, fostering, fundraising, and helping animals in need. She holds a Bachelors degree in Accounting and has been working in public accounting for 15 years.

Julianne Brownis the founder and President of ReLove Animals, Inc. and serves on the Mayor's Anti-Animal Abuse Advisory Commission in Baltimore City. Julianne is a long-time animal advocate and founded ReLove in an effort to reduce the flow of animals into shelters. Included among the many projects she has organized are: humane education in public schools, TNR, legislative advocacy, and community outreach.

MVFA extends a warm welcome to Tasha and Julianne and a hearty congratulations to Lisa. Serving on the board of a thriving non-profit political action organization like MVFA requires dedication, time, and a strong commitment to improving the treatment of animals. Thank you all!
